Albuquerque Aquarium

Stroll through saltwater habitats of the Gulf of Mexico; salt marsh, eelgrass meadow, surf zone, coral reef and deep ocean. You'll see shore birds, pelicans, schooling fish, lobsters, moray eels, jellyfish & a genuine Gulf shrimp boat. The 185,000 gallon Deep Ocean tank has an acrylic viewing window 38 feet wide, 9 feet high and 8 inches thick, and features sharks and thousands of reef fish.

Rio Grande Botanic Garden

The botanic garden offers a symphony of color, texture, scent and sound for every visitor. This beautiful facility sits on 64 acres of land adjacent to the Cottonwood Gallery Forest of the Rio Grande. Observe and learn about native & exotic species in lush giraffes, gorillas, orangutans, toucans, vampire bats, tortoises, piranha, waterfowl, wolves, polar bears, sea lions, tigers, koalas, parrots, frogs, and a variety of lizards and snakes.
